Pro components install through an authenticated registry — a one-time setup per project. Free components install exactly like shadcn/ui.
Create project
Run the init command to create a new Next.js project or to set up an existing one:
pnpm dlx shadcn@latest initAdd Pro components
Most Planes components are Pro. They are served through an authenticated registry, so they need a Planes Pro license configured once per project.

One command merges the @useplanes registry into your components.json, writes your key to .env.local, and keeps it out of git.
Run init — it configures everything for you.
pnpm dlx @useplanes/cli init --key your_keyThen install any Pro component by name.
pnpm dlx shadcn add @useplanes/command-paletteThe setup page generates these commands pre-filled with your license key.
Import component
The install command above will add the CommandPalette component to your project. You can then import it like this:

Free components install straight from the public registry — no license needed. Every component page shows its exact command:
